The attraction's title and opening window of late 2024 was announced on Jat the ESSENCE Festival of Culture in New Orleans. The Splash Mountain log flume rides at Disneyland in Anaheim and the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Florida will be transformed with a new theme based on the Princess and the Frog. Disney media officials have stressed that the concept had been in development for a year prior, with the social media discourse presumably moving up the announcement timetable.
